1869, 15¢ brown & blue, type II. Deep rich colors, tied by quartered cork and duplex "Washington D.C. Jun. 25" (1870) cds on cover to the director of the Royal Museum at Stuttgart, Wurttemburg, markings include Smithsonian Institution's blue oval datestamp, red New York (Jun. 26) and Verviers-Cologne transits, receiving backstamp, neatly docketed, slight creasing and sealed tear at top right above stamp, otherwise Fine, sent just before the end of the 15¢ NGU Closed Mail via England rate.

1869 (1880 Re-issue), 1¢ buff. horizontal pair (mostly separated), perfectly centered, right stamp faulty at right from placement over edge of cover, tied by "Washington D.C. Mar. 6 11 AM 1891" machine cancel on small cover to C. F. Rothfuchs (stamp dealer) in New York City, receiving backstamp, Extremely Fine apart from minor stamp flaw, very rare, ex-Juhring and Sheriff; with 2005 P.F. certificate.

Jul. 2 5 PM 90" duplex datestamp, cover open at top & right, Very Fine, a rare mixed Franklin Issue cover with the 1¢ 1869 Pictorial Re-issue, ex-Sheriff; with 2005 P.F. certificate.

Mar. 25, 1889" circular datestamp, receiving backstamps, small tear and fold at left, otherwise Very Fine, a colorful and scarce combination; with 1977 P.F. certificate.
