1861, 3¢ rose. Bright color, tied by blue grid and matching "Chicago Ill. Jul. 5, 1864" double-circle datestamp on Lincoln Patriotic cover to Jacksonville Ill., clear strike of blue oval "West Branch P.O." handstamp, partly restored, lovely Fine appearance, scarce example of this auxiliary marking used on a rare patriotic.

1861, 3¢ rose. Well centered single neatly tied by "Syracuse, N.Y." double circle postmark on 1861 lemon cover with stunning red cameo corner card of "S.P.Pierce, Importer of China & Earthenware", tiny cover nick at top, an Extremely Fine gem, a stunning cover.

1861, 3¢ rose. Two horizontal strips of three, one slightly overlapped by 1¢ blue (63), tied by fancy Star in Circle cancels, right strip also tied by "Shanesville Pa. Sep. 5" circular datestamp, red New York and French transits on 1864 buff cover to Koniz, Switzerland, Bern backstamps, slight wear affecting stamps, Fine, a remarkable franking for 19¢ PCM rate.

Cancelled by central grid & tied by Wallingford, Ct. cds on 1864 cover to Chicago, a nice variety of supplementary markings applied in Chicago including "Chicago Advertised" in Shield, "Not Called For" in octagon & backstamped "Chicago, Ills/Dead" cds, all in blue, Very Fine and choice.

Pa., Post Office, Feb 27" cds alongside, enclosure a remittance notice with 1862, 2¢ orange proprietary tied by circular company date stamp, Very Fine, a very unusual usage.
