1857, 10¢ green, type II (pair) + 10¢ green, type III. Each with manuscript "X", pair just tied at right by magenta manuscript "Port Townsend W.T. 10 April 1858" Washington Territory postmark on small cover to Scotland, markings include red London Paid circular datestamp and Haddington receiving backstamp, minor gum toning around perfs, Ty. III with small tear at top, overall Very Fine, an extremely rare early transatlantic cover from Washington Territory, ex-Jarrett, with 2005 P.F. certificate.

1857, 10¢ green, type II. Uncancelled but "tied" by some trivial toning around perfs on 1853-55 3¢ red Nesbitt entire to France, red "New York Paid 6 Feb. 13" credit datestamp, 1858 French transit, manuscript "Due 2c", cover with central toned spot, Very Fine appearance, unusual usage as most short-paid covers were treated as completely unpaid.

1857, 10¢ green, types II-III-II. Tied by New Orleans cds's on a blue 1859 folded letter to Nantes, France, with red "New York" transit cancel, two French transit cancels and two French backstamps, cover refolded at left, Very Fine, a handsome cover.

1857, 10¢ green, type II. Defective, cancelled by penstrokes on cover originating in Canada and sent to Vermont, Montreal rimless handstamp with "17 Oct. 1857" date in manuscript., "6" due marking, top flap reattached and expertly repaired along edges, Fine appearance, scarce usage, with 1983 P.F. certificate.

1857, 10¢ green, type III. Horizontal strip of three, s.e. at bottom, pretty pastel shade, tied by grids with "Wilmington Del. Jul. 3" circular datestamp on 1858 cover to Singapore, magenta manuscript "28" credit for 33¢ rate -- evidently underpaid as there is no evidence of missing stamp -- red 1858 British transit datestamp also ties stamps, second strike at left, red "New-York Br. Pkt." backstamp, small tear at top of cover, Very Fine and attractive; with 2003 P.F. certificate.
