Comprehensive collection of well over 120 cover and several nice ephemera items from these 2 difficult counties, from the 1870's to current, some of the better items include, early Adin, Adinville manuscript and handstamp, early Alturas, Brockman, Buntingville, Cuba faulty, nice Eagleville, all over design advert Fort Bidwell, manuscript Fort Bidwell, Glade, Hoag 2 year town, Ivy, Lassen scarce, Leavitt, Plumas Junction, Potter 1896 3 covers listed for town, Steele Swamp 1925 the only cover other than the individual lotted cover, earliest known Straw, straight line Susanville Registered and ephemera like Susanville Public School Monthly Report, some faults but general F-VF (no photo).

Mokelumne Hill, Cal, Aug 28, ca 1854 (Calaveras). Straight line (31 mm x 3mm) postmark (Williams-CAL-1620) onstampless cover to Ames, N.Y. with matching handstamped "10" rate marking, refolded ¼ inch at right, Very Fine, earliest known and best strike of all the Mok Hill straight lines, two are currently recorded.
Estimate    $1,000 - 1,500.

Murphy's, Cal., Feb 4 (Calaveras). Two strikes of blue cds, one tying 1861, 10¢ yellow green on cover to Pottsville, Pa., with red and blue eagle and shield patriotic design at left; light cover edge wear and small tear at right, F.-V.F., a rare patriotic usage from California.

Two strikes of blue postmark (Williams CAS-1920) on cover to Pennfield, New Brunswick, franked with 1861 3¢ (s.e.) + 10¢ + 1861-66 2¢ Black Jack cancelled by matching blue target cancels paying the 15¢ West Coast rate, reduced at right, F.-V.F., a rare destination from California, ex-Seybold.
