Canada, 1855, 10d blue. On thin paper, horizontal pair, left stamp showing "dot over shoulder" plate variety, ring numeral cancels, ample to large margins, beautiful rich color, couple light diagonal creases not detracting, otherwise Very Fine, a very scarce multiple, ex Caspary where the pair brought more than twice the catalog value of a single stamp. SG No. 15 £2,600 for singles ($4,082).

Canada, 1855, 10d blue, thick paper. With major re-entry most notably showing doubling in top frameline and in letters "Canada" and "Pos" of "Postage", ample to huge margins, tied by grid cancel on 1858 folded letter sheet paying the British packet rate to Yorkshire, England, clear "Montreal, L.C., Ja 9, 1858" origin date stamp and blue "8d Stg." ocean mail rate handstamp, bold red Liverpool tombstone date stamp and reverse with transit and receiving cds's, stamp removed for examination and placed back, Extremely Fine and choice, an exceptional gem transatlantic usage; with 1964 R.P.S. certificate. SG No. 20.

Ample to mostly large margins, tied by ringed numeral handstamp on 1859 cover to Birkenhead, England, "Montreal, Au 19, 1859" origin cds and red Liverpool Packet entry postmark, endorsed per "Canadian Line, Aug 20, 59" at top and receiving backstamp, addressed panel cleaned to remove ink obliteration, otherwise Extremely Fine, a lovely usage paying the Canadian packet rate to England, ex Jarrett; with 1953 R.P.S. certificate. SG No. 12.
