Hawaii, Worldwide incoming covers. Lot of 36 covers & cards from various different countries of origin including Great Britain, Bermuda, Russia, Reunion, Leeward Islands, Austria, Germany, New Zealand, Macau, Trinidad, Funchal, Cabo Verde, Azores, Romania, Jamaica, Egypt, virtually all are 19th century covers from about 1890 onwards, mixed condition, worth inspection (no photo).

Hawaii, Incoming covers. Small lot of 10 covers & three postal cards incoming into Hawaii from the United States, all from the late 19th century, two with illustrated advertising, mixed condition with some toning.

Hawaii, Décédé/Deceased. Blue two line handstamp (Davey 757, Rarity 1RRRR) on 1896 cover franked with 1894 1¢ tied by Honolulu duplex, used locally with corner card of "Hobron Drug Co.", cover with blue two line "Pas Reclamé./Unclaimed." (Davey 767) & pencil notation "Dead", tiny bit of toning affecting stamp, Very Fine and rare.
Estimate    $400 - 600.

Hawaii, Honolulu Advertised. Large black cds (Davey unlisted) on 1882-92 1¢ Postal Card (UX1) used locally with Honolulu cds & segmented cancel alongside, card with printed message in Hawaiian, trivial corner toning, Very Fine, a scarce early type marking (Rarity 1R).

Hawaii, Dead Letter Office/Honolulu, H.I. Neat strike in violet (MH 754) on reverse of 1882-92 2¢ Postal Card (UX2) to London, postmarked "Waimea, Kauai" three ring postmark in violet & Honolulu transit, manuscript notation "Gone Away" & postmarked with London "Returned D. Lr. Office" cds, minor corner wear, F.-V.F., an nice usage.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Hawaii, Dead Letter Office/Honolulu, H.I. Violet cds (MH 754) on 1894 Postal Card from Belgium to Honolulu, numerous markings include "Honolulu Advertised", "Pas Reclamé/Unclaimed" & "Retour à La Griffe", card mailed on Oct. 30, 1894 and postmarked by the Dead Letter Office on Mar. 9, 1895, some minor wear, Fine, an unusual usage.

Hawaii, Dead Letter Office/Honolulu, H.I. Oval handstamp (MH unlisted, 1RR) on 1900 cover franked with 1899 1¢ dark green tied by "Honolulu" duplex & used locally, handstamped with two line "Pas Recalmé./Unclaimed." marking (MH 767) & "Return to Writer" (MH 755) cds, all in violet, cover with corner card of "Cathcart & Parke/Attorneys at Law", trivial perf toning affecting adhesive, Very Fine.

Lot 1884    

Hawaii, Dead Letter Office/Honolulu, H.I./Jul 1, 1889. Large violet cds (MH unlisted, Rarity 1RRRR) on reverse of 1894 5¢ postal entire to New York with Honolulu duplex cancel, Postmaster's pencil notion at bottom left "Not Found", violet oval "New York Due 1 Cent" handstamp & 1¢ Postage Due applied, entire returned to Honolulu where Dead Letter Office marking was applied, cover with some wear & flaws, Fine, a very rare marking of which only other one is recorded, this being the earlier of the two.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Hawaii, Not Called For. Two strikes of straight line handstamp (Davey unlisted, 1R) on miscut 1893 1¢ Provisional Government Ovpt. card, postmarked Honolulu duplex with "Advertised" cds & "Dead Letter Office" marking, Very Fine.
