Greece - specialized Hermes issues collection, 1861-1895. Mostly used neatly mounted on quadrille pages in two Goddard albums, high quality with virtually every imperforate with four margins, each issue on a separate page or two in quantities from 3 to several dozen stamps including occasional multiples and an array of color, paper and some printing varieties, occasionally omitting some of the scarcer issues, 1861 Paris issues starting with 2l with 4 mint & 5 used examples (cat $337) and including a 1l forgery, 5l with 4 used and the scarce 10l with 3 used, Athens prints with 2l strip of three, later issues including combinations on piece, corner and sheet margin examples, 1872 issues with the array of shade varieties, 2 mint 1876 30l issues (cat $160 each), used 4 large margin 1875 20l with "02" figure error (cat $260), many later issues with a nice range of town postmarks, etc., small Hermes issues with Belgium prints including multiples, perf 13½, etc., Athens same including imperf between errors, blocks, essays, various cancels, surcharges, collection also includes some better 1896 Olympic issues, later turn of the century issues including occupation and annexation issues with better Samos, Eprius, Crete, etc.; a truly exceptional collection of issues with Scott cat. well over $17,000 which does not count for much of the color and paper varieties or later 20th century, well worth careful examination.

Greece - mint & used valuable collection, 1861-1979. An extensive mint and used collection in a Scott Specialty album. Features lovely selections of Hermes Heads, many of which are four margin examples. 20th century mostly complete mint sets with approximately 180 being never hinged. There are a large number of items in the $25-250 range including Scott #1 ($300), 52 ($300), 126 ($175), 128 ($375), 137-8 ($132), 159-63 ($285) with/ cert., 539-44 ($153), 556-67 ($199), 427-36 ($219) and C38-47 ($245). Also a strong section of occupation issues. Careful inspection recommended.

Mint on stockpages, mainly better singles in sets with occasional duplication of better, all never hinged from 1924 on, highlights including the 1896 and 1906 Olympic sets complete (cat $989 & $444 respectively), 1930 commemorative set, #381, the 1940 Greek Youth set (#427-36, C38-C47, cat $800), 1946 surcharge set, all better 1950's set mostly with one or two sets of each and includes 1951 St. Paul set x2 and 1954 Portraits, better airmails with 1933 Zepp set (hinged) and other 1933-34 sets n.h.; bright fresh material with some minor faults confined to earlier issues, worth inspection.
