Double circle postmark (Williams SAC-2580) on cover to Hicksville, Held for Postage handstamp and note that was applied by YMCA at the time: THIS LETTER, Was found in the Sacramento Post Office unpaid. Under the rules, it would have been sent to the Dead Letter office. The Young Men's Christian Association have paid the postage…, with additional next day postmark, cover reduced at right into stamp and postmark, F.-V.F.

Double circle postmark (Williams SAC-2580) on 1869 cover to Freiberg, North Germany, franked with 1869 10¢ yellowish orange and tied by grid cancels, reverse with red "Chicago, Paid All, Direct, Jul 14" and German arrival cds's, Very Fine, an early eastbound transcontinental railroad usage.
