Inbound Gibb correspondence folded entire, yellow "Glasgow Paid Mar 31 1853" octagonal origin postmark and manuscript "8/4" rate, endorsed per West Indies Packet via Southampton and correctly prepaid at four times 2sh. 4d. rate via Royal Mail Steamer to Panama and thence by Pacific Mail Steamer to San Francisco, black "Paid" handstamp applied upon arrival at San Francisco, Very Fine, a very rare usage.
