Confederacy, Highland Home, S.C., January 16th (1862), manuscript postmark with matching manuscript "10 cents paid" on homemade cover to Pilot Point, Texas, small cover tear at upper left through town marking, but of little consequence as this is Rarity 8 in Stets & Teal, background on cancel and town accompanies, Very Fine, a rare cover to Texas prior to the Trans-Mississippi rate being established.

Pickney at Hodges Station S.C., De La Rue & Co. London embossed imprint along flap edge, Very Fine, this is the listing copy, ex-Walcott, Kohn & Warren.
