Doaksville, Ark., Sep 7 (Choctaw Nation), clear cds tying 1851, 3¢ orange brown, type II (3 line recut in upper left triangle) on cover to Chicopee, Mass., Very Fine, a very rare 1851 3¢ orange brown usage from Choctaw Nation, with Dr. Chase notations on reverse.

Holly Point, Ark, Feb 14, manuscript postmark on 1851 cover to New Orleans, La. from the Buchanan & Carroll correspondence, franked with ample to large margin 1847, 5¢ brown tied by manuscript cross cancel; cover with a few pinhole indicative of this correspondence, Very Fine, ex-Hart; with 1990 P.F. certificate.

Little Rock, Ark., Mar 26, blue cds on cover to Lynchburg, Va., franked with ample to large margin 1847, 10¢ black tied by matching blue circular grid handstamps; cover expertly restored at top left corner adding small portions of postmark, otherwise Very Fine, one of only four covers known with the 1847 10¢ issue used from Arkansas; with 1999 P.F. certificate.

Little Rock, Ark, March 20, blue provisional handmade circular date stamp tying 1852, 1¢ blue, type IV, horizontal strip of three on cover to Drennon Springs, Ky., additional strike at right with manuscript date, with townmark made after fire destroyed the Little Rock post office on February 4th 1853, accompanied by second cover from correspondence franked with manuscript canceled 1851, 3¢ dull red (11) with manuscript "Little Rock, Ark, Feb 8" postmark four days after the fire and with enclosure mentioning the fireThursday night we were aroused from our slumbers by fire bells. Giffith's shop, Kinnard's shop, the post office and Roberson's store are in ruins.; former with doodling on stamps from recipient and latter with stamp corner nick, F.-V.F., this being one of two known on cover examples of the 1853 Little Rock Provisional date stamp.

Napoleon, Ark., May 29, two bold strikes tying 1851, 1¢ blue, type II + 3¢ dull red + 10¢ green, type II, horizontal pair (7+11+14) on legal size cover to Plauen, Saxony, red "N. York U.S. Pkt., Paid 16, Jun 14" exchange cds and two strikes of blue Bremen transit handstamp; with pair of 10¢ stamps fallen off left of franking after transiting New York (N.Y. credit reflecting the proper 44¢ rate) and before reaching Bremen, cover edge tears and wear, Fine.

Van Buren, Ark, addressing on incoming 1847 folded letter, franked with large margin 1847, 5¢ dark brown, vertical pair, rich intense color and detailed early impression, tied by manuscript crosshatch with "New Orleans, La., Nov 20" cds alongside, Extremely Fine, this is one of only seven recorded 1847 issue covers mailed into Arkansas and a very early usage of the 1847 5¢ issue.

Washington, Ark., Oct 20, cds tying 1852, 1¢ blue, type IV on circular rate cover addressed to Chief Pitchlynn in Eagletown, Choctaw Nation; slight cover soiling and wear, Very Fine, probably mailed in 1852 or 1853 since Chief Pitchlynn was in Washington D.C. in 1854.
