Steamer S.F.J. Trabue, Capt. J. Tucker (Mississippi River), bold and complete red oval handstamp on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire to Greenville, Ga., postmarked red "New Orleans, La. May 5" cds and cancelled by small black grid & bold "Steam" straightline, large sealed tear at top (almost invisible), otherwise Very Fine.

Steamer S.F.J. Trabue, Capt. J. Tucker (Mississippi River), red oval handstamp on reverse of 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire to New Orleans, struck by red oval forwarder's handstamp "Reshipped By, Watts Given & Co., Mammoth Wharfs, Paducah, Ky." across indicia and postmarked bold "Steam" straight line in black with red "New Orleans Jun. 23" cds at left, entire opened out for display, some hinge re-enforcement along fold, Very Fine and scarce.
Milgram No. 1269    Estimate $300 - 400.

This vessel was built 1854 running St. Louis-New Orleans for James Tucker, Master, prior to November, 1855 when it was sold to New Orleans and ran New Orleans-Vicksburg. It burned at Algiers, Louisiana April 10, 1856.

Trabue (Mississippi River), red oval without Captain's name in center, on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt to New Orleans, postmarked red New Orleans cds & cancelled grid cancel and complete "Steam" straightline handstamp, usual pinholes as found on the Carroll correspondence, F.-V.F., ex-Somdal, Illustrated in Milgram.

Steamer Shamrock (Mississippi River), mostly complete straightline in ornamental frame on 1851 folded cover to New Orleans, postmarked bold red "New Orleans La. Feb 17" cds with matching "Steam 10" in circle, Very Fine and attractive, a rare and fancy marking.
Milgram No. 1271    Estimate $300 - 400.

The "Shamrock" was built in 1848 and burned at Lake Bisteneau in 1851.

Steamer Shamrock (Mississippi River), straightline without ornamental frame on blue folded letter datelined "Sheriden March 8th 1850" to New Orleans, postmarked red "New Orleans La. Mar 15" cds and matching "Steam 10" rating handstamp for over 300 miles, manuscript "Shamrock" endorsement, light horizontal fold, Very Fine and rare, this is the only recorded example, Unlisted in Milgram.
Milgram No. 1271A    Estimate $300 - 400.

The "Shamrock" of 139 tons built at Newport Ky. in 1848. Burned and lost in Lake Bistineau La. in June 1851.

Regular Cincinnati & Wheeling Passenger Steamer Sidney (Ohio River), red illustrated corner card on cover to Racine, Ohio, some soiling & reduced at right, also included is 1910 picture post card showing the "Diamond Joe Steamer Sidney, Quincy, Ill." with three different handstamps of the Str. Sidney, franked with 1¢ Washington-Franklin tied by Burlington, Iowa machine cancel, F.-V.F.
