St. Louis & New Orleans Steamer Olive Branch, Trip No. 3 Jan 20 1864 (Mississippi River), circular date handstamp on cover to Greenwood Ill., franked with 1861 3¢ Rose (65) target cancelled with "Cairo, Ill Jan 22 1864" double circle, also included is 1870 printed freight bill in purple, F.-V.F.

Passenger Packet Olivette (Muskingum River), ornate red printed corner card on cover to Pittsburgh, Pa., franked with 2¢ Bank Note (210, hint of wrinkle) tied by cork cancel with Malta, O. cds alongside, Very Fine, this is the only recorded example.

Regular Passenger Packet Ontario (Ohio River), brown illustrated corner card on cover to New Matamoras, O., franked with 1861 3¢ Rose (65, toned perfs) tied by blue "Cincinnati, O. Jul 2" double circle postmark and open grid, reduced at left (affecting corner card) & minor edge toning, F.-V.F., Illustrated in Milgram.
Milgram No. 1028    Estimate $150 - 200.

Included is original enclosure with written message, "Owing to low water we are unable to complete trip, what disposition shall we make of the 100 dry hides consigned to you?" Signed by the "Clerk Str Ontario".

Steamer Ontario (Canandaigua Lake), attractive blue illustrated corner card on cover to Naples, NY, franked with 1¢ Banknote not tied by cork cancel, slightly reduced at right, also included is 1¢ postal card to Philadelphia with blue double circle Steamer Ontario used in 1883, card with some insect damage at right, cover Illustrated in Milgram, double circle unlisted.

Steamer Onward (Alabama River), red printed corner card on 1864-65 3¢ entire to Whistler Sta., Tenn. and then forwarded to Jackson, Tenn., postmarked indistinct cds (probably Mobile, Ala.), manuscript "R.R.S.", additional struck with "Office M.M.M. & O.R.R. Whistler Jun 5 1866" double circle, overall soiling and bottom right corner repaired, Very Fine appearance, ex-Barkhausen, Illustrated in Milgram.

Haviland, Clark & Co.'s Line The Steamer Oregon (Hudson River), extremely attractive printed corner card on immaculate cover to North Adams, Mass, franked with 1857 3¢ Dull Red (26) tied by Hudson, NY cds, flap torn & two tiny mended tears affecting corner card, Very Fine and attractive, a very rare Hudson River Steamboat, Illustrated in Milgram.

From Steamer Osceola (Mississippi and Ouachita Rivers), red oval handstamp on 1850 folded letter from New Orleans to Col. J.H. Dawson, Care of P. McCollom & Co., Camden, Ark., cover is two page lettersheet with one page of printed text & one of written text from Cherry, Henderson & Co., one flap with manuscript endorsement, Mess McCollum & Co. will please forward this letter to Col. Dawson wherever he may be if practicable & oblige them forward, on other flap is gorgeous strike of "Cherry, Henderson & Co." red company oval handstamp in showing large Spread Eagle, light file fold through steamboat marking, Very Fine and attractive.
