Jun 11" cds at left, endorsed manuscript "Jas Robb" at bottom left, horizontal file fold, Very Fine and an excellent strike of this marking, Illustrated in Milgram.

Steamer Jane Moseley, May 20, 1875, blue double oval on cover to Portsmouth, Va., franked with 3¢ Banknote (couple minor perf flaws) tied by target cancel with "Norfolk, Va May 21" cds alongside, light edgewear and minor reduction at left, slightly reduced at left, Very Fine, this is the only recorded example of this Steamboat handstamp, unlisted in Milgram.

A STUNNING STEAMBOAT COVER SHOWING THIS FANCY HANDSTAMP - ONLY THREE KNOWN COVERS.

It is believed that this marking and the fancy "James Hewitt" handstamp were made by the same person. We have never offered this packet marking and a quick search of the Siegel website shows that none have been offered by their firm since the start of computerized record keeping.

Packet Jefferson (Mississippi and Black Rivers), complete red illustrated oval handstamp showing great detail on 1851 folded letter from Black River to New Orleans, postmarked red "New Orleans, La. Nov 6" cds with matching "Steam 5" in double circle, sadly there are small surface abrasions affecting the marking including a small hole at center, horizontal file fold with defects which has been crudely repaired, still impressive strike and overall Fine cover.
