1914, 2¢ carmine rose, type I, S.L. watermark, horizontal rotary press coil, pair, o.g., never hinged, exceptionally well centered especially for this difficult coil issue, rich color and bright P.O. fresh, Extremely Fine and choice; with 2021 P.F. certificate Graded (XF 90, SSV $1,700).

For comparison, the P.S.E. population report records only three pairs at 90 with only two other examples grading higher (at 95).

1916, 3¢ violet, S.L. watermark, horizontal rotary press coil, pair, light oval cancels, remarkably well centered, strong bold color, Extremely Fine, a wonderful used pair of the 1916 3¢ type 1 horizontal rotary coil, with only four pairs grading higher; with 1995 P.F. & 2023 P.S.E. certificates, the latter Graded (XF 90, SMQ $1,000).
