Mexico, Victoria 4r Black on Yellow, Diagonal Bisect, upper left portion of stamp affixed over Tula de Tamaulipas boxed handstamp (Schatzkes 1839) with matching boxed "Franco" handstamp (Schatzkes 1839A) initially a Sello Negro usage, on 1861 folded letter sheet to Catorce and tied by second strike of townmark, Very Fine and unusual bisect usage, with 660 stamps issued; with 1997 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

Mexico, Victoria 4r Dull Rose on Yellow, bold Victoria red fancy "Franco" cancel (Schatzkes 1818), full well balanced margins, Extremely Fine, only 114 issued (NF $900); with 2024 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

The 4r Red on Yellow stamps were printed in parallel to the 4r Black on Yellow to combat the illegal use of splits from six larger districts and initially sent only to those. Both 4r colors were used in parallel. However, at the end of the issue, with the central post office in disarray, the small balance of the 4r Red stamps on hand was sent in small amounts to 16 other districts including Victoria. All these are rarities.
