THIS STAMP STANDS OUT AS ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF THE 1870 90¢ NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY GRILLED ISSUE. ONLY A HANDFUL WITH COLORED CANCELS ARE KNOWN TO EXIST.
This is one of two examples graded 90J in the P.S.E. Population Report. There is one stamp graded 95J and one in the grade of 98. While this stamp may not be the highest numerical grade, this is by far the most attractively cancelled of the few high grade 1879 90¢ H. Grill stamps.
