1852, 3¢ dull red, type I, margins to just in, cancelled by clear strike of red "Supplementary Mail" Type A octagonal handstamp, tiny edge thins, Very Fine strike, ex-Eubanks; with clear 1980 P.F. certificate.

An exceedingly rare find on an 1851 Issue stamp. It's highly probable that this represents an exceptionally early use of this marking. A concise analysis accompanies explaining why it might predate the known on-cover uses by several years.
