Gold Coast, Cancellation Collection, mainly QV - KGV. A marvelous starter or intermediate collection of postmarks on and off cover in 4 volumes creatively presented using maps and photocopies from the Proud handbook. Nearly all towns appear to be represented including many scarce and rare, meticulously laid out and profusely illustrated. Mostly low values but also includes QV values to 5, 10/ (2) and 20/ on red paper. An excellent collection. Condition a bit mixed but generally F-VF.Estimate $750 - 1,000.

Gold Coast, Group, 1889-1905, of 12 items with 5 postal cards ½d, 1d (3, one to Dahomey, a Plymouth Paquebot and uprated with QV ½d and KEVII 1d to Germany), 1½d to San Francisco, 2d regular. letter envelopes to London (2), plate proof on card of RMS Sokoto to London written from Sierra Leone, franked with Gold Coast ½d "X"ed in blue and Plymouth 620 duplex applied, a 1d to England with VF Plymouth squared circle, QV 2½d canceled B27 with Kwitta cds, 1905 regular. to England with pairs of the ½d Key type and 2d first design canceled Victoriabourgh Accra and a Gold Coast Parcel Post label with a second West of Africa/Foreign and Colonial/Parcel label affixed on top, first design ½d, 2½d, 6d applied and canceled barred numeral 556. The latter a bit tatty, others mostly F-VF.Estimate $400 - 600.

Gold Coast, Maritime Cover Group, 1900-30, of 5 Maritime covers all of which are canceled DEUTSCHE SEEPOST WESTAFRICA HAMBURG: QV ½d postal card uprated with ½d Key type to Hamburg, ½d (3) on cover to Bern, 1911 plate proof on card Main Street Accra with pair of German 5pf and sent to Jena and KEVII 1d postal card to Hechingen (toned). The last a marvelous 1d Castle postal card uprated with ½d Castle message datelined Kribi, Kamerun, the indicium canceled Eloby Spanish Guinea and with Maisach arrival all on face.Estimate $300 - 400.
