Fancy Cancellation Collection, mixed of many hundreds displayed and sometimes written-up on pages in large binder, from a #1 thru to the 1890's with a wide array of cancellation for the period from simple geometrics to pictorial cancels hand selected for choice full to complete strikes; including #210 with superb complete boxed geometric of South Hanson, Mass., "baseball diamond" cancel on 2¢ small banknote, Masonic rays around cross in box of Norwich, Ct. (S-E CR-C 25b) on 1863 24¢ issue, circular rosette of Alexandria, Va. (S-E GE-R 18) on #65, negative "E.A.H." of Richfield Springs, N.Y. on 1¢ Banknote, Masonic compass & square, triangle and trowel cancels, honeycomb of Fort Leavenworth on 6¢ War issue, page of the Weston, Mass. "W"'s, skull & crossbones tying 2¢ Banknote, various shields, Paids, stars, letters, Maltese crosses, shields, etc., three pages solely on N.Y.F.M. cancels, complete "76" in shield of Phillisburgh, Pa. on 2¢ Banknote, "C.L.D." initials in Teapot of Perkin, Ill. on 3¢ Banknote, also additional sections including multiples, some machine cancels, etc.; a nice overall view of 19th century cancellations, inspection highly recommended.
