Mexico, 1867, Gothic "Mexico", 1r black on green, block of 9, o.g., most never hinged, light vertical crease affecting center stamps, F.-V.F., believed to be third largest multiple known, ex-Gutierrez & O. Rodriguez.

Mexico, 1867, Gothic "Mexico", 1r & 2r issues, canceled out of district in Amecameca and Puebla respectively, Very Fine, the Gothics were meant to be used only from Mexico City, there are a handful of stamps that were used elsewhere, all are very rare.

Mexico, 1867, Gothic "Mexico", 1r black on green, Tlalmanalco out of district cancel (Schatzkes 854), Very Fine, the Gothics were meant to be used only from Mexico City, there are a handful of stamps that were used elsewhere, this is the only one from Tlalmanalco.

Mexico, 1867, Gothic "Mexico", 1r black on green, tied by Diligencias de Cuautla oval handstamp (Schatzkes 844) on 1868 folded letter sheet to Mexico, Very Fine, although Gothic stamps were meant to be used from Mexico City, there were 2,000 stamps sent to the Stagecoach Company to be used from Cuautla, there are only 3-4 covers recorded and are rarities; with 1998 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

Mexico, 1867, Gothic "Mexico", 4r red on yellow, Puebla "Franco" out of district cancel (Schatzkes 1147B), Very Fine, Gothics were meant to be used only from Mexico City, there are a handful of stamps that were used elsewhere, this is the only high value from Puebla.

Mexico, 1867, Gothic "Mexico" on thin gray-blue paper, 4r rose, canceled by socked-on-the-nose grid handstamp with inked fingerprint tying on 1867 tissue paper folded letter sheet to Elizondo, Spain, reverse with red "London, Oc 29, 67" transit cds and red "4R" inland rating, Very Fine; with 1990 R. Calves, 1991 & 2008 M.E.P.S.I. certificates.
Scott No. 45    Estimate $3,000 - 4,000.

This stamp was printed in small quantities (15,000), and no more than 10 covers are recorded, mostly maritime usages.
