1857, 10¢ green, type III, huge and beautifully balanced margins, deep rich color on fresh paper, full perforations, beautifully vivid red "New York Paid May 30" exchange office datestamp, Extremely Fine and choice, ex-Kirke and Gorham; with 2001, 2013 P.F. and 2006 P.S.E. certificates, last two Graded XF-Superb 95; SMQ $3,000.

A GEM USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1857 10¢ TYPE III WITH A COLOR CANCELLATION.

Thirteen examples have equaled this grade while only three grade higher in the P.S.E. Population Report, however this is undoubtedly one of the most attractive examples, irrespective of the grade.

1857, 12¢ black, plate I, cancelled by blue town and vivid red Liverpool transit cancels, perfect centering, framelines complete on all four sides, fine impression in a deep bold shade, Extremely Fine to Superb, ex-Zoellner; with 1986, 1998 P.F. & 2009 P.S.E. certificates, the latter Graded (XF-Superb 95, SMQ $2,750).

A PHENOMENAL EXAMPLE WHICH IS CERTAINLY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SINGLE 1857 12¢ BLACK THAT WE HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO OFFER.

Due to the narrow spacing between stamps on the 12¢ Plate I, very little room was left for perforations. Examples such as this are incredibly rare.
