Camp of the 17th Maine Reg't of Volunteer Infantry, Near Brady Station Culpepper County, Virginia, 4-page letter datelined "April 24th, 1864" with interest and horrific content…It is Sunday but we don't have any Sunday in the army we have had an inspection today of our Division which has but 2 Brigades in it now ours is the second which has got 9 Regiments it is commanded by Gen Hayes, being one of the finest in the whole army. We are going to move Camp in the morning we have been temporarily attached to the second Corps. There is no third Corps now we are the third Division of the second Corps being consolidated with the old second Division of the third Corps. There is no news here we don't know what is going on out of hearing there is a great many rumors going on here but it looks as though there might be some hard fighting here soon…Dead men is no fright to a soldier the has seen service where I have been. It is thought nothing of to drive a team over bodies of men their legs and arms sticking up as the wheels roll over them their bones crack like dry sticks, Very Fine.

Great Western Sanitary Fair, Cincinnati, O., violet illustrated Fruit Bowl corner card for the "Horticultural Department, Greenwood Hall", on cover to Olmsted Falls, O. franked with 1861, 3¢ rose (s.e. at right) tied by blue "Cincinnati, O., May 11" cds and grid duplex; some light stains and corner wear, F.-V.F., a rare Sanitary Fair design.

Indiana Sanitary Commission, small size imprint imprint on buff cover with illustrated corner card "Indiana Soldiers, The Pride of the State and the Glory of the Army", to Tippacanoe Town, Ind., franked with 1861, 3¢ rose tied by "Chattanooga, Ten., Jan 21" cds and target duplex; small stamp flaws at bottom from slight overlap of cover, otherwise Very Fine.

"Chattanooga, Ten., Mar 20" cds and target duplex with matching "Due 3" in circle handstamp, with original 1865 enclosure on "A free gift to the Union Soldier, From The Northwestern Sanitary Commission, Branch of U.S. Sanitary Commission, Chicago, Illinois." printed letterhead, Very Fine, very scarce.

Ladies Aid Society, cover with Office of Hospital Chaplain U.S.A., Jeffersonville, Ind. corner card on cover addressed to "Mrs E.J. Baird, Pres. L.A. Soc., Green Bay, Wisconsin", franked with 1861, 3¢ rose tied by light grid handstamp, matching "Jeffersonville, Ind., Apr 27" cds, with straight line "Missent" handstamp additionally tying stamp and "Fon Du Lac, Wis., May 3" cds and target duplexes, Very Fine.

A very scarce usage to Mrs. Baird, President of the Ladies Aid Society. The Wisconsin Ladies Aid Society worked closely with the Chicago, Ill. Sanitary Fair Association.

Sanitary Commission, U.S. Women's Auxiliary Association, Boston, corner card on postmaster free frank cover to Fitzwilliam, N.H., red "Boston, Mass., Dec 31" cds, cover forwarded to Norwich, Ct., with blue "Fitzwilliam, N.H., Dec 31" cds with matching "Forwarded" straight line and "Due 3" in circle handstamps, Very Fine.

U.S. Christian Commission, two covers; one from Nashville, Tenn. to Green Bay, Wis. with Dove & Letter illustrated "The United States Christian Commission, Cumberland Hospital" letterhead enclosure datelined "May 19, 1865" (letter written Swedish language), and a "U.S. Christian Commission" imprint cover Philadelphia to North Lineklaen, N.Y. with 1864 enclosure written from the Chestnut Hill Hospital; few minor cover flaws, F.-V.F.
