Mexico, 1887, Numeral on blue lined paper, 2c brown carmine, Colima Provisional, group of 2 nice covers and 3 stamps; with cover to San Francisco with two 2c Ledger Lines perf 6x6 Colima Provisionals (202v), a 3c and a strip of three 5c Ledger Lines perf 6x6, other cover is to Galveston with a genuine single 2c Ledger Lines perf 12 (196v) Colima Provisional with a genuine black surcharge paying the 1c Printed Matter rate, 2 genuine singles and 1 fake stamps are included, Very Fine.Scott No. 202 var., 204, 196 var. The Colima Provisionals were a fabrication by the postmaster at Colima. He devalued some 2c stamps to 1c applying a surcharge overprint. He then sold them with a profit. Maybe 15-20 covers are known.

Mexico, 1887, Numeral on blue lined paper, 10c brown lilac, perf 6, group lot with 3 covers with this uncommon stamp; two are solo usages Tampico to London and Veracruz to France and one has 2 stamps Mexico to Italy, Very Fine, the ledger lines issue was an emergency as the printer had run out of regular paper, so he used paper meant for accounting ledgers with green lines.Scott No. 205 Estimate $150 - 200.
