Hawaii, 1893, Provisional Govt., 5¢ deep indigo & 5¢ ultramarine, red overprints, single of each tied on separate matching covers addressed to H.S. Crocker & Co. in San Francisco, both tied by "Honolulu, H.I. May 23, 1893" duplex postmarks, receiving backstamps; the former toned and silked inside reattaching backflap, the latter Very Fine, and the earliest known usages of the 1893 5¢ red provisional overprint issues.

EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF 1893 5¢ ULTRAMARINE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT WITH TYPE I DOUBLE OVERPRINT.

Only ten examples of this double overprint where ever produced all coming from only one sheet. With only eight examples are known to exist.
