Is., Oct 4, 1887, blue corner card date stamp on cover to North Kohala, franked with 1886, 2¢ rose canceled by purple target handstamp, no postal date stamp indicating the Department of Education date stamp was excepted as a postmark, Very Fine and unusual.

Hawaii, Hawaiian Hotel, allover illustrated four-panel scene advertising design on reverse of cover, bearing 1894, 5¢ rose lake tied by "Honolulu, H.I., Aug 1, 1898" duplex on cover to Rome, Italy, upon arrival readdressed in attractive red ink to Grand Hotel Brufani in Perugia, reverse with purple "Collection 9:25 A.M." violet straight line handstamp (Davey 752) on reverse along with Rome cds; small bit of paper loss on back, Very Fine and rare advertising usage to Rome. Scott Nos. 76.

Blackstad at Waimea, with purple "Waimea, Kauai, Feb 22, 1899" inverted date slug backstamp (255.01), Very Fine. Peters-Uota Nos. IISNC-HS-2.

Hawaii, Interior Department, Gov'nt Survey, Hawaiian Is., blue oval handstamp at the right of cover addressed to Kahakuloa, Maui, franked with 1875, 2¢ brown (35) canceled by segmented target, matching "Honolulu, H.I., Oct 3" cds, 1882 pencil docketing at right; cover a bit reduced at right, Very Fine, this rare marking was in use only during six month survey with less than 10 employees.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Another cover exists, from an early period of the survey, with this handstamp used as a frank.
