Hawaii, (Hawaii) Collectors Office, Hilo, Hawaii, oval handstamp (211) and matching Hilo square grid handstamp tying 1864, 3¢ rose vermilion on blue ladies cover to Punahou, Oahu, pencil "May 10, 1865" docketing on front; couple small cover opening tears, Very Fine; with 2015 P.F. certificate.

Hawaii, (Hawaii) Hil(ea), partial manuscript town postmark (801, 1RRRR) on 1864, 2¢ rose vermilion, couple small comer perf creases at bottom, a F.-V.F. strike, an extremely rare manuscript postmark from Hilea, Hawaii, one of only a few known.

Hawaii, (Hawaii) Honoka, Hawaii, Apr 21, 1900, partial purple transit cds (259.01, 1RR) on reverse of cover to Paauhau, Hawaii, franked with 1899, 1¢ dark green + 2¢ rose, horizontal pair (80+81) tied by Honolulu, H.I., Apr 14, 1900 duplex postmarks, small cover corner fumigation clip at bottom left due to the bubonic plague epidemic; cover reduced at left, Very Fine, a very rare on cover usage, with only ten strikes recorded by Gregory.

Hawaii, (Hawaii) Kau P.O., neat manuscript cancel (802, 1RRRR) on 1864, 2¢ rose vermilion with slightly short scissor clipped perfs at top, Very Fine, this listing on Gregory's Post Offices in Paradise website lists this cancel as tentative as the listing postmark runs off an off cover stamp and could be mistaken for another town.

Hawaii, (Hawaii, Kealakekua) ELC, manuscript initials cancel tying 1864, 2¢ rose vermilion, horizontal pair on 1867 cover to Hilo, Hawaii, docketed "Rev J.D. Paris, Nov 27/67" at left, couple light cover stains, otherwise Very Fine.
Scott Nos. 31    Estimate $400 - 600.

The initials are likely those of a relative of Postmaster P. Cummings. In 1867 the Kealakekua post office, where Rev. Davis mailed this letter, was located in Captain Cumming's store.
