Pacific Mail Steamship Co. Cancellations on Revenue Issues, 1862-72, remarkable collection of 108 stamps bearing the straight line P.M.S.S. steamer name cancellations on First to Third issue revenues; arranged on pages by the lines and ship names, starting with the Pacific Line with cancels including the Constitution (1), Golden City (2), Montana (6) and Sacramento (2) including one on a $5 Probate of Will issue, the China Line including Alaska (10), America (10) including on $5 Charter Party imperf, China (4), Colorado (2), Great Republic (4) and Japan (13) showing three different handstamp types, Shanghai Branch Line with rare Costa Rica (1) and Oregonian (3), and the Atlantic Line with Arizona (8, 1st & 3rd issues), Henry Chauncey (12, 1st, 2nd with red cancel & 3rd issues), rare New York (1), Ocean Queen (13, 1st-3rd issues) with possibly unique 25¢ (2nd issue) usage from any steamer line, and Rising Sun (17, 1st-3rd issues); includes some additional material including three different P.M.S.S. date stamp handstamp on first issues revenues (one from San Francisco), couple stock certificates, unused bank check, S.S. Colorado bill of lading with revenue and company handstamp, etc.; condition a bit varied with clear strike or strikes throughout, generally F.-V.F. or better, all are ex-Tolman with some additional items added.
