1870, 1¢ ultramarine, H. grill, N.B.N.C. printing, exceptionally well centered, rich color, canceled by cork duplexed with indistinct cds on unsealed Portland Stone Ware Co. illustrated advertising cover showing drain pipes and bottles with stamp collar, addressed to Bridgewater Mass., Extremely Fine and choice with an outstanding stamp; with 2006 P.S.E. certificate.

1870, 1¢ ultramarine, H. grill, N.B.N.C. printing, horizontal strip of three, tied by blue "Roslindale, Mass., Jul 28, 1873" cds's (Helbock scarcity 7) on cover to Napa Valley, Cal.; minor cover edge flaws and reduced at left, F.-V.F.; with 2015 Weiss certificate.

1870, 2¢ red brown, I. grill, N.B.N.C. printing, with late state flat grill points, in combination with 1870, 3¢ green, H. grill, horizontal pair and four singles (136) paying the double American Packet rate to Havana, Cuba, all tied by red N.Y.F.M. geometric handstamps with matching "New York, May 1" cds, oval "NA1" inland rate handstamp and 1873 year docketing on reverse; 3¢ pair and two singles (one with s.e.) over lapping cover at top, Very Fine and a stunning cover, a very scarce mixed grill combination with the 2¢ bearing the late state I grill only used after January of 1873.

Nantucket at St. Thomas, West Indies with "per Brazil Steamer" ship endorsement, corked canceled with matching indistinct origin cds, red "New York, May 23" cds and 1872 docketing at left; some small perf flaws, otherwise Very Fine.

1870, 2¢ red brown, N.B.N.C. printing, two singles, in combination with 1870, 3¢ green, two singles (147) overlapping on 1873 cover to Paris, France, tied by red "Philadelphia, Pa., Jul 26" cds and cork duplexes, overpaying the double 4¢ per half ounce (15 grams) British open mail rate (paid only to the UK), "10" decimes due handstamp, Very Fine.

Transit, Jan 15" exchange cds on 1873 cover to Galgocs, Hungary, carried by Cunard Line Java from New York Jan. 15th to Queenstown arriving Jan. 24th, Galgocs (1.31) arrival backstamp; slightly reduced at top, 6¢ creased, Very Fine and scarce destination at the 7¢ NGU Closed Mail rate, ex-Landau; with 2006 P.F. certificate.
