(New York Foreign Mail) Eight-Section Circular Grid, two strikes, one bold and complete ties 1870, 24¢ purple and two 1870, 2¢ red brown singles (one a replacement), on 1871 cover at 28¢ treaty rate to Bark Kathleen at St. Helena, partial red "New York '24' Feb 4" exchange cds, red London Paid (2.13) transit cds and red crayon "1" pence colonial credit rating; reduced at right, Fine, This is the only recorded NYFM cover to St. Helena and one of only four recorded examples of this cancel, ex-Norman Clowes; with 1991 P.F. certificate. (New York Foreign Mail) Elaborate Positive Geometric, choice bold strike on 1873, 30¢ black, some light tiny creases, an Extremely Fine strike, ex-Weiss, illustrated in Weiss (page 137). Scott Nos. 165.
Weiss Nos. GE-EP12    Estimate $300 - 400.

This is perhaps the finest recorded strike of this rare cancel with such a crisp early strike. It is also the only recorded strike on the 30¢ value.

North - South Negative Handshake of Worcester, Mass., clear bold strike with handshake clearly visible, duplexed with "Worcester Mass., Dec 21" cds on 1¢ Liberty postal card (UX5) to Adrian, Mich. with receiving postmark, 1880 dateline on reverse, a Very Fine and choice strike.
Cole Nos. HF-6    Estimate $400 - 600.

This fancy postmark was issued to promote reconciliation desired by Pres. Rutherford B. Hayes after the Civil War.

Skull & Crossbones in Coffin of Pittsburgh, Pa., strong complete strike with partial cds alongside, canceling on 1¢ Liberty postal card (UX3) addressed locally, dateline "Pittsburgh Dec 10/73" on reverse, a Very Fine and choice strike, certificate notes this fancy being similar to Cole SK-52 used in Pittsburgh even though the card is datelined Pittsburgh on reverse and addressed locally; with 2011 A.P.S. certificate.
