Scandinavia, Collection, 1850-1940's high-cat, low-percentage type accumulation of used and mint on various pages; actually two collections without Iceland plus a single volume of Iceland, most value in duplicated ranges of earlies in rather mixed condition, with most duplication (some 5 or more of each), lots of $20-200 range items really add up and there is even a group of DWI, not particularly pretty but could offer some good cancel and shade variety hunting; owner's cat value by Scott exceeds $19,000.

Scandinavia, Collection, in 4 volumes; Sweden earlier are used, later stamps are mixed */o with some n.h., Denmark, mostly used, Aland Islands, mostly n.h., Faroe Islands nearly complete 1975 until 2000 nearly all n.h., 3rd volume, Stender padded binder and slipcase, with album pages from the beginnings until early 1990's, a blend of */o, 4th volume Specialty Series Scandinavia, with Denmark, Faroe Islands, Norway, Sweden and a few extras thrown in; owner's approximately cat value $3,000-$3,500.

Sierra Leone, Collection, 1859-97, mixed mint and used housed on Scott pages; with strong completion of issues for the period and some pleasant duplication, includes 1859-96 QV issues with parallel */o in a few high values, good 1893 ½d surcharge mint, etc., 1896 key types complete and better 1897 Stamp Duty surcharge issues including Scott #59A x2, includes some revenues issues; condition is mixed, inspect.

South Africa, Collection, 1910-28, written-up on quadrille pages; starting with 1910 first issue including used blocks and usage on registered entire, 1913 KGV definitives complete mint and used with modest to moderate duplication and a nice array of town cancels, section of 1913-21 coils with mint and used pairs, couple 1923 essays, nice showing of later including good high value bilingual pairs */o, on cover usage, postmarks on stamps off cover, multiples, etc.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

South Africa, World War II covers, small sketch book full of interesting World War II covers with a wide variety of frankings and censor markings, usage are mainly South Africa, however some are Great Britain stamps used in South Africa, or in combination with South African stamps, additionally K.U.T. with A.P.O. cancels on preprinted "On Active Service" covers, a couple of "Active Service" aerogrammes, and more, worth careful inspection.

Lot 1874 /o/   

South West Africa, Collection, 1899-1980, housed on quadrille pages in Elbe album; starting with German South West Africa issues with 2m forerunner on piece and regular issues with completion in mint and additional used with much cancel interest and good high values, on cover usages with many registered items, post and postal cards including unfranked feldpost items, section of British issue forerunners, nice showing of the KGV bilingual pair settings including the scarce 2nd setting 10sh & £1 pairs mint (cat $550 & $1,100), good 3rd setting mint issues with £1 pair, 1927 Pictorials complete including block of four 10sh and additional mint pairs, with later issues in similar fashion mostly mint; condition well above the norm throughout, inspection highly recommended.
