Lot 2817    

Philippines, 1907, 10¢ ultramarine, Bureau of Insular Affairs Special Printing, o.g., barest trace of hinge, one of the better centered copies, immaculate and Very Fine; with 2008 P.F. certificate.
Scott Nos. E2A    $3,250.

This comes from the 1907 Bureau of Insular Affairs Special Printing and was intended to supply requests for Philippine stamps, 100 of each denomination were prepared using the stamps on hand. This is the basis for the new Scott Catalogue listing, E2A, which is a different design than any regular-issue Philippines Special Delivery stamps. All known examples have a damaged transfer under the "N" of "Cents".

Philippines, Special Delivery, 1925, 20c violet blue, bottom right corner margin plate no. "22620" block of 6 with imprint, o.g., never hinged (few gum skips affecting one stamp and light natural gum bends not creasing), large margins and full sheet selvage, rich deep color and very fresh, Extremely Fine, a choice and very rare plate block.

Philippines, Special Delivery, 1944, 20c dull violet, handstamped "VICTORY", large paper split on the back below the overprint at bottom left unused, one of the best centered copies, rich color, attractive Very Fine appearance, only 54 unused examples are recorded in the Brewster census, very rarely offered; signed Heiman, with 2005 P.F. certificate.

(few with "dried gum"), 16c no gum, F.-V.F. with J19 extremely fine, rarely offered; all with 2000 A.P.S. certificates & additional 2022 P.F. certificate for J19 (Graded 95).
