North Borneo, 1939, 10¢ violet & bronze green, on two covers; includes two singles in combination with 1939, 3¢ slate blue & green + 8¢ scarlet (305+308) on registered cover to New York City, all tied by "Sandakan, Registered, Jul 2, 1940" cds's, registry etiquette and reverse with appropriate transit postmarks and boxed "Passed By, 21 Censor, North Borneo" type 1 handstamp; cover opened at sides for display (a rare censor marking, only four recorded from Sandakan and two from Tawau), also single in combination with 1939, 2¢ purple & greenish blue + 1941, War Tax, 2¢ purple & greenish blue (304+319) on official imprint cover to Michigan, official cachet handstamp and red small triangle "Passed For, Transmission, North Borneo, 10" type 3 handstamp (one of four recorded examples of this censor handstamp), Very Fine.
