Luxembourg, Albert Einstein and The Intellectual Set, 1935, A page featuring the Intellectual set of 1935 B65A-B65Q and an autograph of Albert Einstein at the top left side of the page, Certainly an interesting piece that demanded further research which is included with the lot and also a mint lightly hinged set, Scott $449., that could be affixed to the page, Jacques Minkus, the owner of the Gimbels stamp department, asked Mr. Einstein to attend ceremonies honoring the stamp's release and Mr. Einstein was pleased to do so and he autographed 52 pages with the set and they sold out quickly. This set was unlisted in Scott for many years before the Scott Editors acknowledged that it should be Scott listed hence the B65A-Q odd numbering. All the profits on the set sales were donated by Mr. Minkus to charity as he was the agent for Luxembourg in the United States at that time. A fitting set of stamps to go with the ever-popular autograph of Albert Einstein. The page is toned from age, but the signature is bold and strong, a great collateral piece for any serious Luxembourg collector. ex-Windsor.Estimate $1,500 - 2,000.
