Salvador, Collection, 1803-1966, highly specialized collection neatly written-up and mounted on quadrille pages housed in eleven Elbe albums; starting with ten 1803-65 stampless covers, 1867 first issues including scarce bogus issues, section of die, trial color and plate proofs as well as trial printings in black, issuances showing the various cancels, captured imprints, fake cancels, etc., 1874 Contra Sello overprints including rare type I's, large used multiple of type II, counterfeits, etc., 1879 issues includes plate varieties, cancel study, setting study and plate reconstructions and on cover usages, later regular issues in similar fashion with highlights including Hamilton B. N. Co. specimen sheet, 1890 issue progressive proof of four emissions (3 different) and imperforate between varieties, 1891 high and low value combination die proof, 1892 5c issue in combination with 1891 1c + 5c fiscal issues on cover to Hamburg, Germany, scarce 1892, 1c on 25c blue surcharge issue used, selection of 1893 issue die proofs including negative proofs, 1894 essay and progressive vignette proofs, imperf between varieties, with later regular issues following in similar fashion to turn of the century, with later including overprint and surcharge studies, an array of on cover usages, etc., back-of-the-book with airmails highlighted by the 1929 20c airmail with red overprint (less than 100 known, Scott C1a, cat $850), later issues with variety, specimens, on cover, etc., other sections including dues, officials, registry, parcel post, postal tax, seals, revenues, telegraph and money order, etc.; a wonderful old-time collection and a true must view to fully appreciate.
